Trip to Australia, Victoria, Melbourne

(My Experience In Summary)

Procrastinated long enough before I've finally put this post up. There's too many photos to go through!

I still find it hard to believe that this trip by far wins hands down among all the places I've been too. I thought the Bubbletea in Taiwan was simply too awesome, or perhaps the food in Japan was unbeatable. Now what's so special about Melbourne?

It's surprising. From the people, to the environment, place, magnificent scenery, food and all the magical encounters I had along the way, it's simply amazing and beautiful. 10 Days trip seems long at first, but you'll be surprised because there's so many things to do in Melbourne (Victoria) that I've discovered along the way that made me realised: Perhaps I could've stayed and explored for a month.

I'm going to start off with a summary of some really awesome encounters I had.

The first one I'm going to share, happened when I was near St Hilda's Beach. How did it happened? There was this old man who brought his dog out for a stroll. He had a ball in his hands and threw it far away, allowing the puppy to catch the ball and return it back to his owner. Guess what? The puppy ran towards me and toss the ball towards me (using his mouth) for me to toss it away as seen in the video. This went on for a couple of times. I tried tossing it to the owner but the moment the dog caught it, it ran towards me <3 I had to return the ball to it's owner's hands before it stopped. Trust me, this made my day :)

Yet another magical encounter with one of my favourite animals! WALLABY! I CAN'T BELIEVE IT APPROACHED ME!!! We were at Healesville Sanctuary and I went wondering alone since my parents were taking their time wondering around and taking lots of photos. This was when I stumbled into their habitat. And you bet, they're so CUTEEE, especially this baby one. <3

As for the next animal you are about to see, it's a type of anteater, which I believe only can be found in Australia and New Guinea. This animal is just really really chubby.

Again, yet another animal that Australia is known for. KOALA BEARRR! I'm so envious of them because they get to sleep 20 hours a day, while I get to work 20 gazillion hours.

This one is really hilarious.. HAHAA! Lucky to have caught a video of this.

Pure skill?

Kangaroo Boxing. No tickets needed to watch this live show.

Sometimes I guess, some things are just fated right? We were lost in Melbourne City as it was our first time taking the tram and we took it in the wrong direction. Asked around for directions and finally got on the tram in the right direction. While my dad and I were discussing on the tram, a friendly girl approached us! She turned out to be a Singaporean Studying in Melbourne University, Year 2! We had a short conversation before she alighted and told us to alight at the next stop as we were heading to Queen Victoria Market. Before that, she recommended us the Mussel Hotpot. Sure enough, it tasted heavenly and WE LOVE IT. Gold Award Winning Recipe. Really lucky and thankful to have met her (Oh and i forgot to mention, she's pretty - both on the inside and outside)

Another thing I have noticed and love about the culture. Every staff you meet at the counter will greet you with 'How are you feeling?' or 'How's your day?'. But that isn't what's special. Coles Supermarket actually compensated us with one pack of peanuts for their mistake as they overcharged us $2. we were charged $18 for 2 bag of peanuts on promotion. They ended up refunding us $8. This is their way of saying thank you for helping them to spot the mistake. (: Now isn't that great both ways?

If you would like to know about my entire trip and what to plan for on your next trip, why not hop on to this entire journey.
