Review On Lunch Buffet @ The Fern Tree Cafe (Hotel Miramar Singapore)

Definitely One Of The More Affordable And Quality Buffets I've Been Too. I Guess Cafes Located In Hotels Do Have A Minimum Standard And This One Is Just Exceptionally Good. I Will Go On To Prove My Point That This Buffet Is Definitely Worth Your Time And Money And Of Course, Worth Gaining Some Fats! And DO ADVANCE BOOKING As With The Current 1-For-1 Promotion, This Place Is Rather Popular And It Is Unlikely That You Will Find Seats If You Walk-In.

(Place Looks Empty Because
It's 2pm When I Took This Picture)

Lovely Atmosphere! The Ambience Of The Cafe Is Pretty Neat, With Christmas Decorations And Drawings On The Mirrors. Christmas Songs Were Also Being Played To Bring Out The Christmas Mood.

Sashimi Spread Was Rather Simple - With Just Salmon And Tuna. The Tuna Was Really Juicy And Sweet And It Was Way Fresher Compared To The Salmon! Prawns Were Really Huge And There Was Scallop And Mussels. That's Actually All The Spread For Seafood. Small Variety But I Wouldn't Complain Because Overall, The Food Was Just Really Fresh.

The Four Different Ways Of Making A Chicken Dish
With Black Pepper Dory Fish, Mussels And Sotong And Fried Rice

Crab Croquette, Siew Mai, Steamed Pork Rib.

Spaghetti With Presto Sauce (Garlic And Cream)

Clam Chowder. Not Too Thick.

Piping Hot Mee Rebus. Tasted Heavenly.

What I Find Really Interesting And Astonishing About This Place Is How The Chef Can Actually Come Up With So Many Ways To Cook A Simple Chicken Dish. There Is Braised Chicken, Stewed Chicken, Cheesy Cream Chicken And Mushroom Chicken. And All Of Them Were Simply Delicious, Though My Preference Was The Cheesy Cream Chicken (Because I LOVE CHEESE). The Beef Stew With Red Wine Was Slightly Tough But The Sauce Was Splendid.

It's Really Heartwarming To See How Buffet Concepts Have Shifted To Healthy Eating, Which Is Really Important. There's A Salad Bar That Allows You To Mix And Match Vegetables And Fruits Were Also Served.

There Were 3 Different Desserts Served But I Was Too Full To Try All. Got To Love The Glutinous Rice Ball With Yam Paste! There Was Also Cheng Tng And Bubur Hitam.

Simply Amazed By The Cakes. The Cakes Were Soft And Spongy And They Weren't Too Sweet. And Also, The Cakes Were Cut Into Really Small Pieces (So You Get To Try All Without Over-Eating) The Nonya Kuehs Tasted Pretty Decent Too!

Ended Off With Ice Cream!!! Four Different Flavours To Choose From - Blueberry, Mango, Yam And Lemon As Well As 3 Different Toppings!

The Service Was Exceptional. The Clearing Of Plates Was Definitely The Most Efficient I've Actually Experienced At A Buffet. The Chefs Also Does Periodical Checks To See If Any Of The Food Trays Were Empty. Empty Trays Were Either Almost Refilled Immediately Or Are Replaced With Other Dishes.

The Buffet Dinner Is Much Costlier But You Can Expect More For Sashimi And There's Free Flow Anchor Beer!

You Are Missing Out On Life If You Haven't Tried This Out.

Review On Dim Sum Buffet @ Ban Heng Restaurant (Harbourfront Centre)

Finally Have Some Time To Do Another Buffet Review Because I've Been Really Busy Lately. This One Is Not Too Bad. Even Though There Weren't Much Guest On A Saturday Afternoon, There Were Plenty Of Tables So Booking May Not Be Necessary. This Is An Ala Carte Buffet, So You Get To Order What You Want.

Place Looks Pretty Classy.

As You Can See From The Menu, The Buffet Offers A Decent Range Of Selection For A Dim Sum Ala Carte Buffet At A Reasonable Price. However, They Should Have A Menu Displaying These Delicacies To Make It Look More Appealing And Appetising.

Finger Food Which You Can Just Take And Go

The Fried Man Tou Was Crisp On The Outside.
The Chicken Wings Were Well Seasoned.

Shrimp Dumplings Which Goes Fantastic With The Special Sauce.

Fried Shrimp Dumpling &
You Tiao With Salad Cream

Look At The Spread!!!
The Siew Mai & Steam Shanghai Meat Dumpling (小笼包)
Is Definitely Worth Trying!

Osmanthus Jelly!

A Majority Of Their Selection Contains Prawns Which Is Considered As Seafood, So If You Have An Allergy To Seafood, I Definitely Recommend You To Give This A Skip. One Thing That I Was Hoping To See On The Menu But Did Not, Was The Chinese Salted Egg Custard Bun (流沙包).

Service Was Okay And Waiting Time Was Relatively Short (Around 5-10 Mins). But They Made A Mistake And We Waited Half An Hour For Our Orders To Come And It Took Quite A Few Prompts.

Overall, The Food Is Decent And I Do Feel That This Place Is Worth Giving A Try If You Enjoy Dim Sum And You Have A WHALE Appetite. There Is No Doubt Though, That There Are Are Definitely Better Places To Have Dim Sum In Singapore.
